Opinion on Aquadyne model 2.2B and UV1 U10 UV unit

Post by cju »

Anyone share their thoughts on the Above units. How easy they are to install and maintain as well as the running costs? i.e power consumption, replacement UV tubes etc.

Is the outlay worth the results etc.

I've a 5000 gallon kidney shape koi pond.

Your views and experience would be much appreciated.

I have fited 2 x 8.8's and 1 x 4.4 unis. They each have their own UV steriliser and are worth every penny. Like any pressureised system they are only as good as the pump you attach to them and turn over is crucial. You will also need a sieve before hand to take out the major solids but maitenance is dry, easy and straight forward. The only thing that will hold you back is your budget. Awesome unit and I would recommend them to any one, after all how many other pressuiresed filters come with a life time guarantee? I do not know of any others or even any other filter on the market. A big selling pointin my book.

I have a 2.2 on 6000 gal with UV
I have a seive before then Badu 42/8
it works very well

If you PM with you phone number I will call and have a chat about it
you are welcome to come and see it in action and water quality ( you can see a pin at 6.6ft )

Does take time to mature and you do need a pressure pump but take up very little room and works well
so you pay the money - your budget your choice. I know I would use another one.

The UV is also very good but again the bulb is not cheap - but you can get them from the internet.

Des, I have an aquadyne 4.4c and uv ( uv 2), on a 10,000 gal pond and agree the bulb is expensive: £70 to replace each year. What internet site do you get yours from please?

As to the aquadyne generally, very good, easy to fit and clean. Pump used ( Badu top 14), is a bit juicey to use though.

Replaced our Nexus with a 2.2 A/Dyne never looked back, space was a premuim with us along with ease of cleaning...

Hubby was ill at one stage I couldnt manage to clean Nexus daily, or get ANother to help... with the A/Dyne it made life so much easier one less worry, found with our pond better not to purge too often....
