Retro fit bottom drain gravity fed into a vortex and fit pump external of vortex to shower, in short as I need sleep.

Amanda,
If you had one, you could fit a compact sieve just in front of the spray bar at the top of the shower. You would therefore remove all crap and then gravity out from the compact seive to the shower spray bar.
Andy (Emmaandaj) did this on his GOP for a while, worth chatting with Andy see if he's still using it or has it 'spare'!

Hi Bob/Russ.
Andy sold the sieve a while ago i think.
The vat is on the ground so no chance of fitting bottom drain (probably) it is a collapsable vat so the skin is just thin plastic.
Could i fit a home made nexus and pump from the nexus to the shower or would there not be enough draw from the tank? ie needs a bottom drain to do so.
Or as russ said one of those retro fit ones?

Hi Amanda,
Yes you could fit a retro bottom drain then a home made Nexus i would imagine this would work.
It will also depend on how many fish you have in there and for how long as its only a small VAT are they going to be in it for long

Hi Gazza.
There are 7 in there at the moment, i shall be moving a couple to the pond next week.
its mainly for my grow and show but it houses Robs baby from mike so every thing really revolves around his takigawa, he's so proud of it ,which is nice as it has taken me ten years to get him interested.
