Hi all,
was wondering on your thoughts about gas or oil fired boilers?
what do you think is cheaper, i know you have the problem of siting the oil tank but the actual cost of running an oil fired boiler compared to a gas fired fired boiler is it any cheaper, i think oil is at 46ppl at the moment but dont know how long 500 litres would last.
any help appreciated
cheers
ian

Re: heating costs
Not an expert Ian, but my brother in law does a lot of Oil fired aplliances.
as far as i'm aware the fuel can be more expensive than gas (depending on quantities bought) and the bolier would need servicing more than a gas bolier.
I wouldn't think you'd save anything, especially if you'd have to buy a tank & boiler.

Be carefull, you've obviously checked on oil prices at the moment and yes it's not a bad price, but, they have just come down. If you go back to just before Christmas you find you would have payed an extra 13p a litre. Gas is pretty much a constant price all year round, oil i'm afraid is not, demand goes up, so does price
