what are my options for a sieve on my skimmer line to go with my biomax 25 ?
the Ultra Sieve 3 is way out of my price range right now, is there anything that would 'tide me over' until i can afford one. ?

I have fitted a few now on a skimmer line with no sieve in front, as long as You have a basket in the skimmer you will be fine.

Hiya,
How about a Waterco multi-cyclone? I use one on my skimmer and it takes out everything above 40 microns I believe. I did say earlier that it didn't seem to do much, but can now see that it's taking a LOT of muck out. Worth a look perhaps, but needs a decent pump. I use a Sequence 13000 on mine.

Re: sieve options
hmmm, quite pricey.
i do have a Hidroclean unit that i could try & use, not sure of the flow rate etc. i think they work best after a pump , rather than before a pump
i suspect it might restrict flow if i try & use it between the skimmer & filter.

Re: sieve options
Cetus sieve mate, gravity fed, you can't beat them in my eyes,
I have two, one on my skimmer and one before my nexus 300.

Re: sieve options
unfortunately i don't have the funds for a NEW sieve just yet. I might be able to look at one next year, but in the mean time it would have to be a 2nd hand one (no such thing) or something else.

Seems a bit expensive, don't bid I bet he doesn't sell it at that price, then offer him less after auction ends
New they are around £390, as I'm sure you know.

oh well, it seems that no-one on here has any experience with the hidroclean. i guess i will just have to give it a try & see how it goes. i'll let you know.
