a few pics so far

Post by dan57682001 »

well i thought i would put a few pics up of my build so far:

as you can see im a messy worker :D

also, everything i have dug out has been moved with 2 buckets, i have steps going up to the top of the garden which means i couldnt use a wheel barrow :( 9 tonnes of dirt out so far, about 3tonnes of ballast and 1 tonne of sand back up to the top.
its been a killer lol but proves you dont need mini diggers and wheelbarrows hehe.
I used blocks upright below ground then backfilled with concrete, the blocks now come about 1.5-2ft out of the ground laid flat, sorry i have no pics of it up to date at the moment will try and get some later. My plan is to have all the filters and equipment behind the pond, then i am going to put up a pergola with maybe some kinda of wicker type stuff along the back so its not visable. then i will be decking the rest of the upper part of my garden to make it level as it is on a bit of a slope at the moment. (plus no grass to cut anymore wwooohhhoooo) :D
thanks for looking.

Hi,
Looks like a tidy job! What gallonage will it be when complete and what kind of filtration will you be having?

it will be around 1300g with out filters. I think the filteration will be 3 vortexs and i think i have a multichamber as well now.
My dad and my gramp has kindly give me the 3 vortexs 12000 lph pump and a 55w tmc uv, i also think he will have a multichamber filter which i havent seen yet. I am lucky they have just upgraded all there filters on there ponds so they had all this stuff going spare :D saved me alot of money, which means i can get this all done a bit faster than i originaly thought as i was just buying bits each month with spare cash i had.

all filters and equipment will be going behind the pond, hopefully out of sight, i am planning on putting a pergola up and some kind of wicker covering across the back to hide the area behind the pond :D (thats the plan anyway)

well all the blocks are laid now thank god!!! that took some time. i have also just recieved a oase 15000 pump and 2 55w tmc uv lights (i wont be using them both) plus loads of pipe, fittings etc all thanks to my gramp. next job for me is to get the ground behind the pond leveled and concrete base down to site the filters. (more digging, i have had enough of digging!!!) will try to get some pics up tomorrow.
