well, its been a lond time in the making but i have finally got to the part where i am actually building the pond, rather than digging holes or pumping out muddy water. heres a pic of the latest progress.
finished size will be 10.5' x 11.5' x 6' , so should be around 4500g. filters will be Nexus 200 off the B/D to a shower and a Power Bead off the skimmer to the shower. pond will be insulated with celotex & fibreglassed by Dave Arnold. a 3'x2' window. heated with by gas boiler through a heat exchanger. pergola & cladding to keep the weather out. more pics to come as we make progress.

concrete base is now in, bottom drain etc. got about 100 blocks in so far so only 400 (ish) to go
the weather is being a bit iffy but not too much of a problem.
