full spectrum lighting for quarantine

Post by Gordo »

i have been looking for full spectrum lighting for my quarantine syste, the lack of light leads to colours fading on the fish if they are kept indoors for any amount of time. any suggestions on sources and lighting types would be welcome.

hi, ive got a 250 gallon tank in my garage and a couple of weeks ago i was given a double glazed unit with no frame so i got to work and made myself a skylight, hey presto a 4ft by 2ft natural light source and no extra electric bill, the fish love it :D

hi
personly i would go for a 70W (min) metal halide with a rating of 6500K
i belive that the full spectrum day light bulbs are great for us but you need some ommf to get down in the water hence reef keepers have to get higher wattage units the deeper the tank is
