revamp those airstones

Post by TerryKoi »

Hi
I have been changing some of my air stones through the summer as they have slowly become blocked, left them on the shelf for a while, I thought as I have no acid which would probably open them up I'd try giving them a light rub over with my grinder  and well look at the short vids, to see the difference .

this was before the grinder (click on it)

This was after

Ok so its the wrong end of the summer but the filters are boiling again.

Yep, a quick scrub with an old tooth brush or nail brush, soak in steradent overnight and a quick rinse does wonders. :D

But be careful with the cheaper, blue airstones, 'coz in my experience they disintegrate!

Cheers
