I'm running circa a 1500-gallon pond that gets sunlight all day.
Current filter system can't cope (home made with filter brushes and black boxes) so I was looking to add a second 'official' box filter with another, stronger, UVC and another submersible pump.
I was thinking of the pump being the Blagdon Torrent 5500, and since I'm short of space, either of:
hozelock ecomax 9000 - which has a 16w uvc
blagdon midipond 14000 - 24w uvc
heissner 8000 - ?uvc
Yamitsu mega box extra large - 25w uvc
Pond Mate 30000GUV
Any recommendations or pointers on known issues with any of these alternatives gratefully received.

The heart of a pond is the filter so now you are looking to upgrade try to get the best you can for the job.Have a good look at what the filters do and work and think about how much waste and how easy it ids to clean them out and keep them maintained,One other tip is when you look at the filters have a look what size it says for a koi pond as some would not even filter a puddle
The next thing is to make sure you get the correct pump for the system as otherwise you could end up pulling the water through to fats and in doing so render the filter incapable of actually doing its job so matching the filter and pump is essential.Have a good look round and filters which are made for Koi ponds and maybe have a look through the members ponds or pond construction on here for some ideas.

Hi Graham,just spotted this.
The easy bolt on answer would be something like an Aquamax 8500 Start through 1.5 inch pipe to an Eazypod.You might like to look into those.While not cheap at purchase both are top quality units which will improve your filtration massively and make maintenance far easier.You can easily insert a 25 watt UV in the line.
