hi dave i was trying to say that if you just get a price without asking questions of what you get not saying that you get a crap job with one layer like you say it all depends on who did it
ps how did you get on with the diy job in scotland ????

Re: Help wanted finding a Fibreglasser
I have no problem doing 2 layers and a tissue but it costs more for no benifit whatsoever Remember all we are doing is providing a waterprroof lining which is smooth granted you may see the weave in the matting but in a couple of weeks thats gone with a suede covering or blanketweed
2 layers are not necessarilly stronger than 1 fact Once it's glassed it adds no strenth to the construction at all another urban myth that seems to be posted a lot
As for the diy job in scotland not been yet but will sort for the guy once he gets over a few personall problems
Rant over
Yes you get what you pay for but why waste money when its not necessary I have not had any complaints and I have been doing it a lot longer than the odd part timer on here that seems to know it all

Dave,
Great to see you back posting on Koi Quest again.
Could a pond be completed with a single layer of 450 mat, followed by Flowcoat? This would really keep the cost down and still be waterproof?

Re: Help wanted finding a Fibreglasser
Well guys,
The big day is approaching, i'm finally getting my pond fibreglassed next Friday, can't wait.
I've chosen Matt from GRP lining services to come and do it for me, he comes highly recommended by many people.
I'll post some pics when it's done, in case anyone else has some fibreglassing to do.
cheers guys for all the info....
