Re: POND BUILD ABOUT TO GET ON THE WAY AT LAST
I'm no expert on this and have recently seen a large koi pond that isn't finished with no filter and about 10 huge koi swimming around happily in it, but I wouldn't want to do it myself!
The important thing is the media so is there anyway you could rig up a temporary filter and use most of the media from the nexus; install that empty to your new pond and then move the media over when you move the koi? You'd then be able to really take your time and make sure you do it right, not be worried about the koi so have to rush the job.
I have a large domestic water tank filled with 50l K1 to filter my QT and it does a really good job. It's pump fed from the temporary pool (a framed pool that cost £50 and holds 600g) and is on a stand above the pond and then the water returns via a 4" pipe to the pond. You could use a large water butt or anything though and just stick a slotted pipe in there to act as the return.

I will have to have a think, ive got my q/t that is empty at the moment ? the temp pool was set up yesterday and the main pool empty so its all go
Re: POND BUILD ABOUT TO GET ON THE WAY AT LAST
Can you just dump all the media in the QT and then pump the water into that then put a slotted pipe to return water back to the temporary pond? It'd do the job for a few days or a week I'm sure.SHROPSHIRE KOI wrote:I will have to have a think, ive got my q/t that is empty at the moment ? the temp pool was set up yesterday and the main pool empty so its all go

Its easier to load you pictures onto a host site and then just copy and paste them onto Koi Quest as they automatically re-size them for you
