Ok i have taken a reading from my q tank which is running Ro the ph has dropped to 6.8 i have no kh! and gh is at .14
Have added some bicarb but why is my gh reading high tds is going down but still high at 264.
do ijust keep adding bicarb to bring the ph up and kh? what about the gh ?
Help.
the second half of the equation "HCO3" is what buffers your pH and nothing else really in terms of what your are measuring
the "Na" does not add to the GH its not part of what your reading but it will add to the TDS
i presume your GH is 14 gdh and not .14 as you put it so
yes you add bicarb untill your KH is higher than the GH then add nothing but ro water then they should fall equally
what you had originally i suspect is what many people including me have is out of the tap a KH of around 4-5 GDH and a GH of 15-20GDH and of course when you run the KH out totally of say a GH of 20, you will still have a GH left of 15 gdh
hope this makes sense ?
dunc
so add more KH while you run the gh down, you do this several times keep taking the kh up to 5gdh every time then running this out i dont recommed doing it in one hit that was just for demonstration and example purpose
