Hi Graham,
Is there enough water in the system can you go to the HX and crack the nut on the pipe work to see if the water is in there

Re: Heat Exchanger (How Does Work)
Perhaps not enough water then Graham or the valve is stuck

Re: Heat Exchanger (How Does Work)
MMM forced valve open on top and pipes warmed quickly as they are not to expensive i may get one to see if tat is where problem lies i cant see it been anything else,

Do you mean the motorized valve Graham?? If so check 240v at the motor terminal, if proved, a new syncro motor is about a tenner, a new valve is about £40..Mike

Re: Heat Exchanger (How Does Work)
you have a air lock on your pond flow and returns,if your m/v is doing what its suppose to.
Re: Heat Exchanger (How Does Work)
My missus works in a Plumbing heating shop so should be able to get one just want to be doubly sure so will do a bit of testing by forcing lever over i have nothing to lose if its broke,

Hi Taggs
The problem will be either your pond stat or the motorized valve.
( with the power off
) Pop the cover the wiring center that the black 5 core wire from the MV goes into (switch power back on) and check that you have 230vt to the brown wire, this is the switch live coming back from your stat, if you have power, then replace MV, if no power then problem will be at the pond stat end.
Any probs then give me a call.
Regards
Andy
