the matting has to be extremely rigid or else those legs in the interlocking parts will bend i would have thought !where does one buy good quality jap mat as it seems there are quite a few different grades out there and once you have it it to late.

what size pump are you using .... UV's should be sized against flow rate not gallonage. Flow too fast past the UV and it wont do its job ... For example looking at the TMC range of UV's (pondclear/proclear) 25W max flow rate 2000 gals/hr 30W max flow rate 3000 gals/hr 55W max flow rate 4000 gals/hr...

you have not mentioned aireation of the jap matt is this benificial or can it be used without any air

fell the first one and see if it still vibrating when it goes silent ?? and the dead one ... change the fuse and see what happens !!!

i always thought the bio media k1 alfagrog etc was at the end of the media chain and the jap mats and brushes were at the front as more mechanical
