Re: Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
[Revised] Yes, there's different approaches to solving this particular issue and I suppose it all depends on each ponds individual configuration. Gazza - when your pump is engaged does it immediately start pumping the waste or does it take 10/15 /20 seconds to get going? What happens when it has com...

Re: Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
Steve, Martin, Hoofman Gent/Ladies, Many thanks for tips on waste chambers, funnily enough a 'strong' plastic bin and a screwfix pump is certainly worth a follow up on cost, need to look at bin though as once its in the concrete :!: there's no turning back. Cheers TicToc PS Gazza - that blanket weed...

Re: Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
Thanks for those posts Gents, much appreciated. I think in our case we will go with the barrel waste chamber idea as we need the fast draw from the Nexus and sieve. Not sure if anyone has posted piccies on the float triggering the pump but again I would find this helpful? Thanks TicToc PS Gazza once...

Re: skimmer line filtration
Hoofman,
If there's one regret I have heard from several 'Pondies' it is wishing that they had run 2" pipe not 1.5".
Cheers

Re: Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
Gents So two options; pump the waste straight out via pump or dump to waste chamber and pump out from there. Clearly the pond pumps are more effective than a domestic saniflow system. Ed’s waste chamber appears to be more effective for the quick drop/draw out of the system, even though with h...

Re: Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
Gazza cheers, Wow what a clean shed, I could eat my dinner off that floor. Is that pump one of the AG series pumps. Does it instantly engage when dumping the waste or does it need a minute or so to engage and get going with the water? Assume from configuration the pump is doing another jobs and you ...

Advice on planning a Waste Chamber with Pump
Can anyone advise on building a suitable dump/waste chamber for a new pond project :?: Current situation: Unable to pump dirty water to main sewage access pipe by gravity so we need to have a pump fed design. Have thought about incorporating a waste water chamber for emptying back washed dirty water...

Its down to David (dho) when he gets a moment or two. I do know Friday's are his special fish days normally  He could be at the bottom of the garden right now struggling with that 1 inch piping....... Watering the neighbours garden and with all that back pressure thank God he's rust proo...

Re: High volume eco-pump
Nice one David. We all spotted that old trick, you hadn't posted the wattage but no one wanted to say it first. I guess the "2,5000" is a typo. I know you're not a huge fan of this particular pump although it has pretty much past the ronseal test. Close to 2,500 gallons, zero head, 2"...

Re: Bakki Shower Advice
Ladies/Gents, I have read through this interesting thread and would appreciate a little more advice for a rebuild. Aim to go shopping for two skimmers and a Bakki shower shortly. Pond is not raised and will be at gound level. Current thinking is to purchase two Certikin skimmers (white!), pipework w...
