Cloverleaf CL3 fill height

Hi Guys

I'm just building a base to install a Cloverleaf CL3 . It's secondhand so I've got no instructions and there doesn't seem to be anything relevant on the CL website. Does anyone know what the correct water level height should be in relation to the rim of the filter. I need to know so I can work out what the height of the base should be.

Thanks very much.

Jon

i also got good advise from gazza he helped with the air ring as i have k1 in a bay

Hi Dazza

The whole thing will be above floor level; I'm building raised piers so that the water level in the filters will be the same as that in the pond. The bit I'm struggling with is what should the water level in the filter bays be in relation to the rim for the CL3 to function properly. Once I know that I can then work out how hight to build the base so that the filters are at the right height for the pond water level.

Cheers

Jon

My CL2 is pump fed above the pond with oaseECO 16000 and the water level in the CL2 is 4" below the rim

Hope you appreciate me going out to measure in a howling gale and puoring rain after a 13hr day!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Hi Andy

Thanks very much for that - it's been bugging me for days. I didn't think you got "proper" weather around Gatwick. I've got so used to it being windy all the time up here in West Wales that I walk at 45 degree angle without even noticing!

Cheers

Jon

Hi, I have a pump fed CL3 and the water level varies a little depending on how blocked the mats are in the 4th chamber, - as it is pump fed the top of the central tube in the 4th chamber has been cut off to leave it open (it is bought brand new with it sealed in case it is going to be gravity fed system), so the water level never gets higher that that tube as it acts as the over flow. In anycase the water is 2" to 4" below the top rim.
I have been very please with my CL3 and i am sure you will be as well

Hope this helps
john
