Simply Koi and More Koi

I just want to say a big thank you to Darren at A4koi, justin at Kashira ponds (hope thats how you spell it) and not forgetting gary, for all their help and ard work in sorting out my abortion of a pond. The boys just cracked on with no prompting, sorted what i thought was gonna be an impossible fibreglass problem with water comming through, not just a trickle but a torrent, stopped that dead, sorted out the uneven brickwork from previous builders( or so called builders), & put me a filter house on
im now filled up, i've pp the pond, running all the pumps off of extension leads, will do the sparkying bit tomorrow , and hopefully a couple of fish come thursday / friday.

I have to say I have seen some shoddy work in My time but the filter house blockwork was pretty bad. 75mm out of level over a 3m length
and 45mm out of up right and only 1125mm high Thats shocking, they couldnt even be bothered to joint it up.
The fiber-glass was a challenge I enjoyed, at one point i felt like the little dutch lad with his finger in the dam,holding back the tide.
Putting peoples work right seems to be getting more and more frequent, Its the easiest job in the world to pick holes in peoples work but sometimes people make it very easy for You.
It pains Me to see what so called professional fellow builders get away with, and think what is an acceptable standard of work. The sadest part of cowboys is all builders seem to get tared with the same brush. There are plenty of us out there that are time sevred apprentices and learnt our trades from the bottom up.
AS ever it was a pleasure to work along side Darren from A4Koi, even more fun watching Young Gary give Him jip all day, I swear those to are in love

Hi Justin, the Koi are becoming more active as the pond has reached the dizzy heights of 6.2 degree today. The pond in running fine although the Koi wrote 'clean me' with their fins in the algae film on the window so I need to take the hint and give the window a good clean.

The new improved filter house which you raised higher and put a roof on for me in the autumn is a great improvement on the old set-up where I had to lift the decking up to get to the filters. I have been out there in all weathers and been able to keep up the maintenance routine in comfort. I put in a raised floor last week with the old feller and so it is really coming together. We used the decking from the old filter house covers so it looking quite smart in there now and I don't trip over the pipework or step on it by accident and it has reduced the step down to nothing. Some shelving has gone up and a couple of hooks for my long net have been put on the wall to hang that up. A few more odds and ends to sort out but it is more or less there. The planter at the end of the pond is now filled with soil, and the raised beds next to the filter house have been built and even got soil in now so the filter pipework taking the waste water away is completely hidden.
