hi guys
a quick question to all with showers on quarantine systems.
do you return just over the shower even when heating.

lee i do but i have a slide valve that shuts the spray bar of and diverts the flow through a return in the pond, i find this way if i want to heat ramp i can go up 2deg an hour over the shower it's about 11/2 hours hope this helps.

Hi Lee,
Yes i pump directly from the bottom drain over the shower with just the heater in line and nothing else and i run around 1600gph so a fair old rate.The QT is well insulated and in winter i have polycard on the top to help.

Mine's in a greenhouse so the whole thing is insulated. I heat the water directly with aquarium heaters.

I divert some flow from the bottom drain back through the heat exchanger and into a pond return. The rest goes over the shower. Probably about 800 gallons per hour through the heat exchanger, 1500 gallons over the shower from that pump. Then a mid-level feed pumping another 2,500 gallons over the shower. On a 2K gallon system.
