i have a cl2 which was given to me it was mess but ive spent a lot of time and money on it as all the bottom pipes were shot no grill trays and its very good now .bay one no vortex its now brushes sitting on the grill bay 2 is all new jap matting on the grill bay three one layer at bottom grill of jap matting then all alfagrog then three layers of foam then the last bay is all k1 55 litres ive removed the tray fitted a grill in the sump so i dont dump it out of waste and bunged up the outlet pipe at the bottom of the main pipe and drilled holes around the bottom of pipe so water only exits at the bottom and this bay has my air pump only 25 litres of air but the k1 is moving all about very well have i got the bays in the right order as ive only moved the bits back one and added a the k1 at the end
this is all up and running but if i have got it wrong i can this weekend coming alter

Hi I have a CL2 on my 2000 gallon pond and I have the brushes in the first chamber (as a vortex it is not big enough)then jap mat then two chambers of a flocore type media,This way you get a third more filtration out of this filter :D

My cl2 has vortex converted to static K1 then brushes removed from ch2 and converted to fluidised k1 then ch3 as jap mat then ch4 lava rock with 3 layer foam on top, works a treat but as water got colder have removed all but course layer of foam from ch4, water crystalish! Only got a floating skimmer that collects LOADS of crap. I now understand why people have a built in skimmer to a filter of its own!
