oak coping

hi all
does anyone know if new oak should be sealed when around ponds.

Darren,

Recommend using a sealer for oak coping outside. You couuld then use a pre cat laquer finish, available in aerosol cans in different sheens (Matt -v-Gloss). Spray with the grain. Use a mask and do away from the pond.

thanks for advice but the oak is already round the ponds although the ponds have no finish to walls.today was the dead line to decide what to do with the oak so this morning i ordered some p2 from east riding.hopefully that will be ok
