Hi all
was wondering how to seal between my dpc and the concrete base. for some strange reason i have water getting between the dpc and the uneven surface of the base. Any recommendations on how to seal it? there is islso 5 foot of block ontop of the concreter which i thought would have sealed it but alas:(
cheers Ian

Hi Ian

It sounds to me as though the dpc is below your water table for at least some of the time.

If you plan to fibreglass, you need to make sure it's completely dry first. If the water table is higher than the dpc, you will need to dig a sump, outside of the pond area and deeper than the underside of the concrete base (to make sure it can dry properly). Then get a sump pump and keep pumping the water away to keep the level below your concrete base.

There again, you might be lucky and find that your water table recedes naturally if we ever get a decent summer! :D

Cheers
