My friend just asked can he put a 55 watt UV bulb in a 30 watt yamitsu UV?
I said to him"How do I know"......"but I know where to find out"
Thanks
Steve

my opinion would be NO.
the power unit on the UV is made for 30watt tubes and would be unable to ignite and run a 55watt tube

.... the 55W electrics is available here, you could then replace the 30W internals with the 55W.
http

but I'm not sure it's worth the effort when a new one is only a fraction mor expensive.
ps. I thought you were coming around?

Am I mistaken or isn't a 55 watt tube LONGER than a 30 watt tube? IOW would it even fit?

Hi all I have a Yamitsu 30w and it has been running a 55w tube for the last 2 years with no problems
it switches on immediately and has kept me algae free
the tubes are the the same length

B Scott, all my research indicates that the only difference in two units is the electrics and the bulb .... housing etc is exactly the same
