Will an Olympic skimmer be able to handle a flow of 3000 galls per hour? pipework is 2" but the 1.5" outlet from the skimmer seems to build in a restriction?

Regards

Hi Dave

I has the same problem with my skimmer line, when using a sequence 1/4 plus.

I had to cut out the 42mm center, using a hole cutter, then fit a standard 50mm tank or side drain fitting, then came of with 50mm pipework.

Works a treat :D

Hope this helps.

Andy

ta Andy

Think I will have to do something similar, with a 1.5" restriction at the bottom of the bowl before the 2" returns I am getting a big vortex in the bowl with an Aquamx 16000. Quick bit of maths suggets the rate of flow through the 1.5" is 60% faster than the 2" pipe so no wonder.

At least it will not involve trenching; just the grinder!!

Hope it goes well at the weekend Pal, I am in love with a Yamabuki!!!

Regards

Dave
