folks are always asking this, and its a subject people need to know and i have two nice detailed photo's her of the sexy bits

so which ones the the female and which ones the male? trust me these are the business ends

Hi Dunc and thanks for this post , I was at the window about an hour ago and trying to see the difference on some of my fish not that I'm any wiser , the vent on some of my females appears to be changing and I assume its a sign they are soon to spawn or am I mistaken

I have a pond full of males and they all look like a/ so I'm guessing b/ is the female

I have gone for B as the female

well both jen and i have gone for ...b...

I'm going for B - for no other reason than I can't find any koi in my pond that look like it!!

Finally went for A as the female

Well I think A is female because I'm sure I read in a carp angling book millions of years ago that the female vent was off-centre. But I may have been thinking of something else............

The other reason I chose b/ is the male vent should look like a 'V' and be slightly sunken... a/ looks more like a 'V' ... so b/female
