fish in pond

hi all

well late thursday afternoon we put the fish in the pond

still got a few jobs to finnish off the decking and the rendering and tidy the garden up.

the fiberglass is british racing green phottos were taken in bright sunshine.

er, Lee. no i'm just a little confused !!!

in my younger Mini-days "british racing green" BRG was a very dark colour. in your picture 1 the bottom of the pond looks almost turquoise. in the second picture it does look a little darker.

and there was me thinking youd broken tradition and gone for a lighter colour.......

yes we have reused our old window from our old pond.

Intresting pics , what size lpg bottles are you using? How long do you reckon they are going to last ?

We have 2 bottles set up for using on our cooker but using on a pond in the future is a good idea.

I've been trying to find this out as well Jane.... really difficult to get any solid information...... I would really like to heat, I have the boiler(practically brand new, and the 170,000 hx) but the Mrs doesn't want a gas main going through the attic....... I've told her it's safe but she just won't have it...... propane is an idea, but I don't think I could afford that way, they are approx Â£45 for a 47kg bottle......if I could just keep the koi at maybe 12 degrees over winter then that would be enough.

But how many bottles would I need for that winter ?

re lpg bottles

we decided to run with bottles due to the gas being around 50 metres away from the house we have used 1 47 kg bottle to heat the pond from 9c to 14.5 c we get the bottle from the same company as we get the house cylinder filled up (flowgas) they cost us Â£38.00 for a refill.

will not know the real cost of heating untill this time next year as i will build a polycarbonate cover in sections at the moment we are heating fresh air.
