Tried to put the pond in the ground today, shuffled it over to the hole and then lowered it slowly in. As i pulled it about i heard a crack and this is what i found...
I reckon you will be ok mate,
im sure that you can line the whole inside of the bottom drain with grp,
making sure that all surfaces are keyed up right so the fibre glass bonds correctly to the pipework.
If keyed up / made good under the B/D lid then you should never see it and no one would know

the hardest part of doing it is making it look neat but as it will all be covered all it will mean is that you have a little more sanding to do, but im sure that somone will reply and pop in and help you out, you should also ask bob.h as hes done a few DIY things with GRP
I'm willing to give it a go Dan, i try and turn my hands to most things, trouble is now i have to wait for decent weather, when i was hoping to have it running in the next few weeks..
Plus if i get it out the ground i could glass both sides for security.

I have just spoke to them and they have said that the drains are made out of the same plastic as the pressure pipework, he has said that it will be ok to glass onto as they use the same drains in a pond they have just built in their shop ans they have glassed into that.
He also recommended i could use polyfilla underneath the entry so as the glass has something to smoooth onto.
then when he realised that i could get it out the ground he said that a sealent shouls work from bothh sides..
Im sorry to see that mate, you must be gutted! These things are sent to test us! Good news is if it is a standard bottom drain then it will be nice and simple to repair with fibreglass. If you can get the pond out again then you will be able to repair both sides and it will be like new!
I dropped my shower when i was building my pond-i bought a repair kit from halfords for a tenner. Id never used fibreglass before but managed to repair it fairly easily-did make hell of a mess though
I would speak to Bob-he will be able to point you in the right direction of how best to fix it
Got any more pictures, is it cracked all the way around, looks like it is nearly there?
Is it all plastic and plastic welded?
I'm guessing that it is still connected to some degree and the unit is now in the hole? Could you get in there with a small angle grinder and rough up the whole area? I could then send you some fibreglass materials and some instructions and you can have a go yourself. It's not a big job and I'm sure would be OK. Alternatively take the pond back out and do the inside and outside for more strength.
If you were not a 6-hour round trip I'd nip up and do it, but I haveso much work on currently I cant take a day out.
