Thickness of Glass

Post by DidIdothat »

What is the thickness of glass that people have been using for their pond widows?
I want a window 4ft x 2ft, so I intend to get a piece 5ft x 3ft to allow for the overlap.

Also have you used toughened or laminated?

Best thing to do is have a phone around Your local Glass shops. I called Watsons for a price it came back at £560  and they wanted me to sign all number of contracts blah blah blah :?
Some lovely lady gave me a contact down our way,(Whitstable Glass) Got the same glass to the same spec for £130
I think the trouble with Watsons is they see Koi as a richmans hobbie and just ramp up the price.

Again I have to second what Justin says about Whistable Glass. Very helpful and by far the cheapest quote I had. My glass was approx is approx. 1800mm x 600mm. Total price was £180.

Cheers
