New Pond build-Finally Got Some Fish In!

Hi Guys,
Bob, Thats the question-what to do with the soil! At the moment ive got a trailer being modified to tow behind my landrover-ive got permission to loose some at my friends fishing lake-only thing is its 25miles away and the trailer will only take 3/4 ton. Will price up skips as another option!
Jane, there is a bank on the boundary between us and the field which there is a tiny amount of soil left from when i dug the trench for the drain- I had the farmer round last month requesting that i clear the soil off his field-so that will be a no no! There really is nothing there-will be a bit more digging for me!
Each bag weighs about 30kg+, unfortunately the pond is now 4ft deep and its hard work getting em out!
Good luck tommorrow Jason hope your soil is not solid clay like mine!

Hi Bob,
The local tip is only a few miles away, but last time i took four concrete blocks they started moaning-i think they said only one or two bags of rubble/soil a week, that would be 150 visits plus whats on the field!
Might fill my pockets every time i walk the dogs and sprinkle it round the village-great escape style!
Need to find someone with a hole to fill-would be ideal as its all bagged up!

LOL, i think the people next door to you hae a neighbour with a big hole in his garden.... you could ask him LOL
our local tip goes mental if you take soil or rouble...
i think a big skip would be your best bet. just make sure you get one thats big enough, you don't want to pay for a second one.
and before you order it sort through the house and garden as its an ideal time to get rid of the crud thats lurking in cupboards around the house.

Hi All,
Over the last few weeks progress has been slow and hard work! The pond has now been dug to just under 4ft deep, the base levelled out and over 500 rubble bags filled with soil!
Yesterday i loaded up my trailer and landrover with rubble bags and dumped them at my friends fishery-i managed 4 trip with a total of 4.8 tons of soil shifted! God did i hurt last night! The front garden is now clear of all rubble bags. Think i shifted 200 yesterday in total.
Today Stu very kindly came over and helped me dig out the trench for the bottom drain and install the bottom drain and pipework. I then did one more run of soil (1.2tons) before collapsing on the sofa!
There is about 300 bags of soil left in the garden now, but the pond is now ready for the concrete base My aim is to totally clear all the remaining bags of soil over the next two weekends, withthe concrete base intended for the following week. Hopefully the block work to ground level will follow the following week.
Will post some pics in a bit-sorry in wrong order!
