the plan was to put drainage pipe in the retainer, if i could not use it as the pond back wall and then back-fill of 40mm gravel or similar behind for drainage and expansion, contraction of the clay, but behind, if being used as the pond wall and, as you suggest run it out down by the garage
I will give you a bell tomorrow if that is ok with you
