All plans are thrown out the window..don't know what to do now...

are you sure it's a ' live' pipe ?..... my mate from this forum had the same problem with pipes like this but they were old pipes and actually filled with mud/clay.... his were definately old pipes... we removed them and then layed the concrete base.... HTH

There is a small piece of the clay collar missing so you can see in it.
I got the little one to flush the toilet and water ran down the pipe

Not easy, but you can move a sewer pipe. You need to create manholes where you break into the pipe though and where it rejoins and aslo you want to keep the fall of the pipe similar or the poop will settle out. So you could put a chamber where your picture shows the pipe, direct the sewer into your garden, then another chamber, then 2 more where you direct it back.

Bob you hit the nail on the head...

Looking at the line of the pipe it now sits nicely under the new conservatory we have just had built....

Hi Jason not good mate you only have two options move the pipe or move the pond or thinking about it how deep is the pipe could you not encase it in the base and raise the pond up or would this be too high.

If i incorporate it into the base i could probably get 4 and a half foot depth...Not really what i wanted but i don't really have a choice.This is the only spot for the pond and as for width i am at my limit, but i may be able to pinch a couple of extra feet on the length...

If its really the only place for the pond and you want to be happy with the pond go for re-routing the sewer, I know its a lot more work but in the end you will be happy with the pond.

Just a thought, as others have mentioned go for the reroute option and you could route your filter waste pipe to one of the manhole drains

I think the best bet is to get the area dug up and get the full path of the pipe exoposed and see what my options are..

I managed to chase the pipe out today and after looking at it i have had a thought.
To the elbow you can see in the pic it is 7ft which was the original length and to the top left corner it is 6ft ( also the same size i planned )

What i was think was to have two levels to the pond, above and below the pipe...
Or would i be better moving the pipe to the left of the pond...???

Jason, anything for an easy life. go with the new design. itll save you money on moving the pipework and keep the peace with the wife
youll have to go under the drain with your bottom drain pipe work though, or have you a plan....??
