blocks per sqM

hi all
if i am using solid 18x9" blocks layed flat how many are there per sq meter

the answer is 10 blocks to a meter
60 for bricks

maybe you should build it in old measurments :oops:

If i understand the question correctly you are laying 18" x 9" blocks laid flat so i assume you mean 18" x 9" x 4" blocks laid the 4" high way in which case i work it out to be 21.6 blocks per metre or have i missed something here Of course Thorny is correct if you are laying them 18" x 9" high. Tel.

vimes... that's how I built my pond as it's the only way I was confident of laying the blocks as I'm not a bricky.... unfortunately the pond is up and running(rendered, glassed etc) so I couldn't tell you how many blocks per sq mtr..... anyway, it's built like an air raid shelter..... good luck and post some pics of progress.

If the blocks are 440x215x100
you get 44000sq mm per block
so tha woorks out @22.73 blocks per Square metre
(I've not allowed for the mortar)
