That will make great filtration, nice and simple
6" fittings from builders merchants usually

I have a 3 foot vortex with static K1 in it, then a 2 foot vortex with fuidised. 40 litres of K1 in the static and 80 in the fluidised. I need to lower the Vortex's as they were put in a couple of inches too high, so may get some more in there yet. I run a sequence 10,000 on the output, which I estimate to be doing more than 2000 gallons/hour (must get around to measuring it!).
If you did much the same, you'd have a great filter turnover.

2" pipe on the output, only 2 90 degree swept bends, no other restrictions at all.

I'm running a 8500 gallon pond on one of these plus a well matured 3-tier Bakki shower with 60 kgs of BHM. I have some lare Koi in there as well and it's suprised me how robust the K1 is used this way.
I do intend to have another pair of Vortex's soon and the Shower will be doubled in size.
So if you have the Vortex's set up something similar, you'll be able to stock a whole lot of Koi inches in there.

How good is that and wait till you see the difference in the water as static K1 works a treat

thanks gazza i have 25ltrs of k1 in just hoping ive got enough slots in it.
i also have about 75ltrs in second chamber but needs more this will also be static then i need to do 3rd chamber this will be fluid fingers crossed should run fine i hope.
ive seen dave arnolds setup and its given me a better understanding of good filtration.

Dave Arnold is that the bloke with a smallish pond and some old pond fillers
i also have about 75ltrs in second chamber but needs more this will also be static
Does this come from a bottom drain or is it attached to the same filter??
The reason i ask is once you get your main mechanical filtration sorted with the static K1 you will probably be better off with the rest being fluidised K1 for the bio

they are all of the same bottom drain ie vortex then first chamber then second chamber so do you think if the easy in the vortex is removing most of the fines then i should fluidise the second chamber.
then that leaves me to decide what to put in the third chamber any thoughts

I would fill it with K1 its great stuff my main filtration is all K1 i have four vortex units the first one is static K1 then the next three are all filled with aerated K1 and it works great
This is my main filter system:
