Hi Jason
I'm sure there was a post on Maurice Cox site with tests for the 3 pumps and Medo came out bottom for how much air it delivered at depth, but I do have a Medo 45 as a spare and it works a treat,

jason

i think tomc had a medo and said it was no good pumping at depth.

have a look here at the secoh.
http://www.koicarp.org.uk/koi_dry_goods_air.htm

or here at the hiblow

http://www.boddingtonkoi.com/hi-blow_21_1.htm

they was the best price's i could find and spares are cheap.

also have a read of this about what pumps people use.

Jason,
Yes these are the same pumps just at the new 2007 prices
Good to see the price coming down and not up :P makes a nice change ,

Mate of mine runs 6x medos at a depth of 7ft , plenty of air there,
But that is all he has so could,nt say better or worse than any other type of pump.

Ive had my medos years ,never missed a beat , and plenty of air here too

As i expected some conflicting advice, same as always it seems that products work ok for some and not for others...

Thanks all

Jason must admit I love my medo's. They live completely outdoors exposed to the elements 24/7 whether its snowing sunny, frosty etc and touch wood have never had any problems at all, no problem with air at depth etc. I would recommend them to anybody.

i have installed medos on every pond we have built over the last 8 years , they are still all working , and some are pumping down at 7 foot to air domes . The new prices are to compete and get a larger section of the market , all dealers will supply at new prices but most havnt got round to changing thier websites yet (me included!)

Specs of the Medos are:

Medo 45 - 53lpm at 0m depth, 27lpm at 2m

Medo 80 - 98lpm at 0m depth, 57lpm at 2m

Medo 120 - 150lpm at 0m depth, 113lpm at 2m

I have Medos in the filters, but have swapped out the pond air pumps (for Airtechs and Hiblows).

Certainly very reliable but output on Medo 45/80 is a bit dissapointing at depth. You'd have to chain some togehter if you want some serious air output.

Also consider spares availability. Not sure where you can obtain Medo spares where as Kam Air, Ait-Tech and Hi Blow are readily available.

The prices you mentioned above are the RRP for the new Medo pumps. I doubt whether you'll see much better prices as the profit margin on the new pumps is far smaller than before.

Cheers Dean.
