Pond build update

Post by jason-m »

Managed to get quite a bit done over the last week, the wall round the seating area is finished and the filter house, only trouble now is the funds have run dry so its spring/summer when i can complete all the woodwork and put on the new roof across the filter house and QT and slab the seating area ( and render the pond.. ),but its really taking shape now and the vision is near completion.... :D

Thats the million dollar question at the minute Bob, i really want to complete the lot before i start putting fish in, my work stay quite slack til easter, then after that i am flat out so the funds will start rolling, plus with the amount of woodwork that needs doing i want the weather to be a bit better before i start staining and varnishing it, so if its this year its this year if not definatly next ( but i am pushing for this year )

Cheers

Hi Jason,

Looking really good and can see it taking shape nicely now. The old outhouse has been blended in really well.

It will also be connected to the rear of the house Bob and will look so much better with the new roof on and the upvc door bridging the gap.

That's looking brill mate........you would of saved some dosh if you had rendered instead of bricking the pond. I did, render and paint....but you've started,so you'll finish. Look forward to the finished product.

Looks great Jason. It's a hard balance between rushing to finish the job and getting it just right isn't it.

With my hectic scedule at the moment i have managed to get just a bit done....

The slabs were laid for the shed and the new shed was delivered and then erected. All the tools out of the part of the outhouse that was still standing were then transferred to the shed.
Then the last bit of outhouse roof was smashed, but as i did this the single skin wall just crumbled at the front ( the back is solid ) so all the bricks were taken down and i have got to rebuild all the left side now....
I managed to win a upvc window off Ebay for £1.. when i got there he told me to just have the window so that was another bonus, and with it being coloured i decided to use it on the filter house so as to see into the pond, as you can see from the pic i have just centered it for now, the sides will be filled with tongue and groove...
