It's a choice between laminated and hardened. Personally I would go for the laminated as if it breaks it is only one side whereas a hardened window will burst into a thousand bits and drain your pond.
Still I know of poeople with both. Your choice!

Des's window is roughly this size and is made up of 2 x 6mm pieces of glass laminated together.

When Des got his window, he got 2

I think I paid him around the £90 mark for his spare ( maybe Des can confirm this ). Still haven't used it.
So I may as well move it on

Hi there,
I've just picked up my window from Watsons Glass tel.(01902 453444) It's 1040mm by 505mm and is made as follows following their suggestion:
8mm Toughened Float
Heatsoaked sheet 8mm
1.52mm clear PVB Interlayer
8mm Toughened Float
Heatsoaked sheet 8mm
This makes up a 17.52mm sheet. This is how it has been written on the invoice from them.
The window itself cost me £125.04, but you will need to arrange collection from them if you do use them as their delivery is stupidly expensive!

Hi Gazza,
Sorry for the delay in replying not been in the country for a while. Got tomorow off and hope to get the window fitted then with any luck, I'm off out of the country again Tuesday.
Now for some help. I've been told I need to rough up the flow coat on the fibre glass prior to putting the sealant on it, but do I need to take it down to white glass or just take off the shine?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Just rough it up with some course sand paper Andy, the sealent just needs something to key itself to.

Well it just so happens that i found out some interesting info today, the wife's uncle works for a company that supplies all the glass to Watsons and a few others...
