3 boxes a bit of pipe with a end result. **NOW UPDATED**
As we have had a nice sunny afternoon hubbys dissapered into the garden for a blue peter moment!
Hes decided we are going to invest in a sturdy water butt as a small QT tank , but before we have made the purchase the filteration system has been made from parts laying around around the house and garden. This has cost us the grand total of £0.00
The plan is using wood or something sturdy is to sit the shower above the the water butt and connet the shower to the water butt via 1 1/2 pipe work.. pictures to follow soon of water butt conected . In the mean time heres the new filteration shower!!!

update on small QT shower
right well i've had my 4hrs sleep after a busy nightshift, so its out to the garden for some more BP magic
Jane got one of the traditional water-butts this morning and heres the results
first a 4" end has a 1.5" tank connector fitted and then fibreglassed to the bottom side of the tank ( i don't buy tank connectors anymore)

its then removed and cleaned up. this is the hole ready for re-fitting

next a stainless mesh is cut and drilled to fit over the hole

now the whole lot is glued and bolted together

right so you now get the idea heres the nearly finished article. all thats needed now is the plumbing in of the pump and some good clean water and away we go

my subspicion is that he has some alfa grog about or maybe some k1 and possible som jap mat , ill find that out tommorow. If he aint it will be a couple of bags of alpha grog....
The whole idea of it is to be used as a emergancy QT when needed and when not in use it can all be stored in the water butt, or he suggested we grow some of the fry we got in it !!!...
so now so far its cost £24.99

I've used that s/steel mesh before for my exit pipe(from settlement to moving bed). After a while(4 weeks) I've noticed that the water level difference was so obvious and been scratching my head for days finding why. Finally I thought about the stainless steel mesh and as soon as I took it out I felt the gush of water. The screen was built up with algae that restricted the flow mind you we are still in winter season here so I've replace it with larger size and detachable too

in answer to Mekoi, the fish going in are only fry of about 1/2 inch so the mesh has to be small.
and Gazza i did say in my post its NEARLY finished> LOL
right it now has a pump (aquamax 10,000)

boy does the water flow

only got a couple of small water spirts to sort out now.
as for turnover rate i'm guessing that with the height of the water and restriction of the pipework i'm getting around 40 times an hour WOWLMAO
