Raised scales

Post by BUMBLE »

Hi All,

I have a couple of koi with large spots. The area around the spots also becomes inflammed. I have taken some scrapes but found nothing.

When the spot first comes through the centre is very white.

Any idea what it is?

Regards.....Martin.

Could be a number of things, and although I have never seen one in real life, it looks very much like the pic's I have seen of injury after anchor worm.
Certain looks like a secondary infection after some parasite.

Maybe someone else could confirm this, or offer another explanation.
Certainly looks like a little clean and topicsl treatment needed,
Is the scale dead?

Hi

The chag & tancho have healed without any treatment but I now have a kohaku that has developed a lot of mucus & started to loose some scales.

Again does anyone have any idea whats causing this?

Thanks....Mart.

How clean do you keep your filtration and the pond, looks similar to a bacterial infection i had in my pond last summer.
