observation tower

I know I've not been around for many a year - sadly my babies were all taken & all I had left were a few goldfish.
But anyways, I saw this video and thought you guys might appreciate me sharing.
It's really a koi version of the fish bridge sold for tanks.
A great way to view your babies & so much cheaper than chucking a huge window in the side of a raised pond.

Not sure how it's kept off the bottom of the pond or if it's glass /perspex but it's very interesting.

Edit...
Sorry, forgot to add. I know there are things called KOI DOMES around but I understand they are phenominally expensive whereas I'm sure these things can be easily made, after all, they're just big fish tanks.

Looks like the guy sites the tank, propped up on legs of some sort ( maybe silicone sealant onto rocks?) to allow the fish in. he then tapes a pop bottle to the end of his vac hose & starts pumping the air out.

What I like about this over the koi dome is that even if your pond is at ground level, it allows you a complete all round view of your fish.

I wonder if this can be built out of plexiglass? I must get out my 1973 Blue Peter annual to see if it's got any tips or hints :D

I don't like these would rather have a window plus it would need to be pretty big to fit some of our Koi in  I was not keen on the dome ether http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk7rTn8D ... re=related

Horses for courses really. If you can't put a window in, want an unusual view & IF your koi are small enough...
Since all my koi went missing the goldfish have had plenty of room to roam so some have grown quite large so I'm keen to bodge something together for next year. I just think it's an unusual feature.
