Hi Kim, Thanks,
I have set myself a deadline of no later than the end of April, before if poss, the little things seem to take longer to get done. I spent most of the weekend putting down a concrete base at the backside, this is for one half of the filter system, its also to stop any water etc leaching through the ground. Ive gone thro 5 tonnes of chippings, 2 tonnes of soft sand, 2 tonnes of grit sand and 20 bags of cement ohh and a few hundred blocks... I seem to be putting back in what i dug out!!!

A slight change in plan on the other side tho, ive found some room in the rockery to put the other half of the filters so i will have more viewing/seating room on the window side, which works out well. Just a bit of jigery pokery with the heating pipes and top up water supplies and all should be fine..... :D
The future residents are all doing fine where they are, so im not to worried, i think there pretty well settled....

Sorry bout the lack of updates, back on track now..... :D

The story so far, the feeesh are in..... :D
A big thanks to Dave 5 for helping me move em over, we got drenched, it was pouring down here last Monday night. I had Monday off work to do the move, i swapped the heating over first and matched the temps, that took a few hours which gave me time to swap the rest off the bits over, nexus, pumps etc.

All pumps etc where removed from the temp pool so i could net em easier...HA !!!

Anyhow, theve been in a week now and alls well, im just starting to get a nitrite reading, so things are on there way.

The pond is running like a dream, better than i thought it would, nothing settles on the bottom for very long, and the currents and flow of the system are fantastic, the koi seem to love it.

A big thanks to Brother Jules for the inspiration, Dave 5 for the endless amount of favours and Loz Harrop for the rendering and fibreglassing, i bow to you all..... :D

I think a few pics went walkies? heres a few more..... :D

Congratulations Al it looks fantastic. What is the size and gallonage. You have done yourself proud with help from friends. Thank you for sharing the build with us and keep those piccys coming of the koi in the window. My pond hasn't been clear since they went in but it is getting there slowly, your water looks brilliant.
Well done and finished just in time for summer :D

Cheers guys,

yip, im chuffed with the way things are going, loads of finishing off bits n bobs to do, but they will come.......
Dave, lol..... :D :D :D
Thanks Kim, pond holds a tad under 5800g including filters, 17'x9'x6'8" at the shallow end, 7'8" at the deep end. Turning over approx 2200g through each filter bank, thats 4400g pushing along the bottom though the 4 deep returns at the shallpw end. Another 2200g pulling through each skimmer.
As for the water, early days yet, i did have a mature nexus to kick off with, so that has no doubt helped. Im feeding little and often at the mo, the nitrite is virtually zero now, the new nexus has already got a biofilm on the sides, as has the pond.
Gazza, you should be on stage with Dave, you'd make a good comedy duo......lol... :D :D Nice to finally meet you (Jason,Bob and Amir) last week....

Thanks again all..... :D
