Lifetech Pumps

Remember alot of discussion about these pumps following the SE show in 2008. Was just wondering if anyone bought any and how they found them: reliable, output as much as stated, electricity usage same as promised.

I am thinking of the Lifetech Flow pump HP12000
HP12000 flows 12000lt at a consumption of 75w with a Max head of 2.2m the outlet pipe fited is 75mm.

It is for a growing on tank will have less than 1m of pipe, about 60cm of vertical head, 3 90's, and the bit im worried about through an electro heater.

Will the pump be suitable for this purpose, the alternative would probably be something like an aquamax 8000 which is similar wattage.

Thanks

Ben

Depends on what flow the heater can handle, what heater is it ?

According to their wesbite heater can handle up to approx 2800 gph, not sure what size heater it refers to though.

More refering to whether the pump will be able to cope to being put through a heater. Do you have one??

Ben,

I was chasing one of these pumps via Ebay, as the price was pretty good. Got outbid a few times then they stopped doing them on there.

David Ho has one, havent heard from David for a while on here though, he's got a new business venture on the go and is pretty busy.

Dont the electro heaters have a pipe size less than 75mm? If so I'd 'T' off the 75mm pipe and just put part of the flow through the Electro?

Thanks Bob thats a really good idea. Would you say given the application it would be better (more flow for same watts) than an eco 8000. Would be really interested to hear anyone who has one.
