Hi Bob,

As you know I know only too well the feeling of handling all these planks of wood by yourself!! Nice to see you are making some progress, slow though it maybe, lets hope you don't end up taking as long as I did.

Good luck mate.

David.

I've been making some slow progress over Christmas and the last couple of weekends.

- The pine tree has been dug out and relaocated
- All the earth around the tree area has been dug out to a depth of approx 16"" and a new flower bed created.
- The rest of the old filter bays and surrounding concrete gunned out.
- Two more posts concreted into the ground

Absolutley loads to still do, but I'm pleased to have made some reasonable progress recently.

The plan is to have the poly carb roof fitted into place by Sunday 27th January.

Then once the area is being kept reasonably dry, I can move along with various pipework installations, concreting the floor, building some retaining walls and then making up further filtration.

A few pictures of how the are looks now.

Graham - the pair of vortex's you can see in one of the pictures needs to be moved 'this way' a bit, so I can fit in a sieve for one of the other bottom drains. Another pair of Vortex's will then be fitted in place nearer this end. Then the rest of the room is just 'space', perhaps for a couple of chairs, somewhere to sit and relax - yeah right! The idea though is to be able to walk down a couple of steps into this 'area', which is dry and warm.

Jane - It doesnt feel dry when my boots are twice the size with mud stuck to them - LOL. You are right about wondering why I started this though.

Hi Bob,

Looks like you have been busy-cant believe how much you have dug out of that corner! Looks like its coming along nicely, will all be worth it when you have the roof on-no more getting wet when you flush your filters!

Are you putting a sieve on before the vortex of static k1?

Cheers Andy

I'm starting to fit a kitchen soon, so I have a lot of 'indoor' work to do in preperation for this, then the fit, then the work afterwards.
Once the roof is on though, it will be drier in there to get on with the rest of it, it will be finished and running by May/June time. There will be lots of additions after that though, more cosmetic stuff really.
