Justin is spot on. I know your dream is to have a 10,000 gallon pond and you've certainly got the space for it - but have you really thought about HOW the dream will become reality?

Sketch what you want and mark out the site with some string and pegs.

Do you know how big your filter house is going to need to be to ensure there's enough space for the EA and Nexus, your pumps, UVs, valves etc? You'll be amazed how much space a simple 4" bend or 2" ball valve takes up! It might be worth conecting it up temorarily in the place you want it to end up so that you can really appreciate the space you'll need.

Then start estimating the materials you'll need - and don't forget to add the cost of skips to remove the spoil. This link should help with the construction materials. http://www.source4me.co.uk/calculate_building_materials.htm

Plan it, discuss it, and check it again to be sure it works in theory before you actually start the dig. Everyone on this site and at the club will be more than willing to share their experiences with you, but we do need some more detailed information of what your plans are.

Hope that helps a bit.

Cheers
