Hi Gazza,
Im running two 5500 aquamax pumps and using the blagdon ceramic media. I think the blockage was caused when i experimented with a new food-the waste seemed to be sticky and clogged everything up. The pond is also massively over stocked and gets a lot of food thrown at it. Im sure with a normal stocking and feed rate it would be ok without the sieve. Hopefully when the pond is done il get some bhm for the showerwhen i have some spare cash.
Hi Bob,
Unfortunately the roof is to low to access the screen in situ. I opted for the flexy pipe so i can simply lift the sieve of the shelf and lift the screen out. Ive ordered a length of push fit 3inch pipe that will fit the sieve properly so i can just slide out the spray bar when cleaning. Its not that ideal really but it doesnt way a lot when the pump is off and it will reduce maintenance alot.
Will be interesting to see how much the sieve has collected tomorrow.
Cheers Andy

Hi,
So far so good. There have been lots of particles in the pond for a while now, since adding the sieve these have now all dissapeared. Ive attached a pic of what it removed in the first 24hrs.

Today i cleaned it out (after 4 days) there was much less waste than earlier in the week-so hopefully i will be able to start cleaning it once a week. Ive also noticed a big difference in the static k1 chamber running off the skimmer-it used to start to block after 2 or 3 days but ive only had to clean it once this week!
Hopefully while im away next week Emma wont have to flush the filters (she has been given a crash course in how the filters work but didnt seem very impressed with the idea!)
Andy
