Bit late I know, but here's my piece for what it's worth!

I use a Pod purely as a mechanical filter on my 2400 gallon pond. Water then goes through a Powerbead filter for the bio stage.

It's moderately to heavily stocked and the Pod doesn't really cope with the mechanical extraction, let alone any bio filtration!

It does do a good job, but I have to aerate and flush it twice a week when feeding heavily in the warmer months. Even with the bead filter I regularly experience nitrite readings of 0.25 but cope with these because each flushing process means a 10% water change.

I wouldn't recommend a Pod for anything other than mechanical filtration on a pond of 10,000 litres. And that would be with moderate stocking.

I intend to replace mine with a larger home made "Eazy" and use the Pod on my skimmer line.

Bottom line? ...... it's good, but it ain't that good. It certainly wont do the job as a stand alone filter on a 10,000 litre koi pond.
