Thanks for all your comments guys. Those of you who have been folowing this for a while know that this is just one part of the overall 'change' for my pond.
I'm dead chuffed with how it looks and I'll get some daylight pictures probably next weekend, whch should show it off better. I'll see if I can get up on my bungalow's roof and get a picture, the size will show better then.
So what's next - where do I start. With the filters there are the services to be put in, then the floor to be concreted, then some retaining walls, some rendering - and then I'll get back to the filtration. Showers to be built and put in place.
The back of the pond will eventually be filled in with some marine ply and then some fancy Japanese words made large and fitted in some of the spaces. Will probably grovel a bit and put my wife's name and my two daughters names in Japanese in there.
Lots of fine tuning on the wood to make it look a little prettier. Also have to fit niggings all the way down the length of the roof, three sets. This just takes up the bow in the poly carb.
Lighting to be fitted sometime, there's just loads of stuff to be done - all before July 5th (yes there is a reason for this!)

As Gazza has said You just cant see how big this thing is from the picture`s. He is a clever lad our Bob and has made a cracking job of the wood work.
It was a fun day with plenty of gigleing. It was just one of those days today when You wanted to be outside. You could almost smell spring in the air.

Fitted the 'noggins' in place yesterday, these are 3" x 2" pieces of wood going between the main roof beams. They help to support the poly carb and keep it flat.
Went up onto the roof of my bungalow and took these pictures to show the size of it all. The slope can be seen on these as well.
It survived the high winds this week OK and it's very blowy out there today as well.
My wife hasnt said too much yet, she didnt really want a big pergola over the pond. I'm sure she'll be happy once it's finished, fingers crossed!!!!
Unfortunately yesterday I also 'tweaked' my back and am now restricted to sitting and cant move about. Had plans for today as well, was digging out some more soil and doing some pipework. Got a concrete floor to lay the weekend after next.
Will have to get to the osteopath this week and see what he can do for me. This and the tennis elbow I recently picked up, I think age is catching up with me - LOL

Hi Jules,
Front supports - do you mean something to fix down the front of the sheets of Poly Carb to? I wasnt going to as poly carb isnt supposed to be fixed except in the middle of the sheets, but I can see your thinking as it's just not even supported on the front edge. I'll have a think about that further.
What I do need to do is fix some brackets across the joints from the posts to the main timbers, across the corners. I need to find somewhere to purchase some of these, I've seen some good ones on some people's ponds, but dont have a picture currently.
A wasnt going to paint it, as it's all tanalised wood. Paint is likely to fade and then require re-painting. So currently I'll just leave the wood as it is and see how it matures.

Graham,
I like to think I'm generally fit and healthy, although my day job involves sitting or driving all the time. I know how I did this though and it does relate to being a little aged!!!!! I took a couple of car loads of rubble to the tip yeserday morning and I'd loaded the car up Friday evening so I could just get up and get there and be first in the queue to get the parking spot nearest to where the rubble bin is. After unloading a fair few bags and a load of old blocks, I felt a twinge. What I hadent done (and this is for us older people) is 'warm up' with any stretching or movements. Yes some of you will laugh, your turn will come - LOL
Anyway I carried on working all day and it got worse. Went out last night to a Chines restaurent and getting out of the seat was a problem. Today I'm confined to a hard chair in front of the PC. Will probably go and shhot up some aliens later on the Xbox. Not used to sitting around and I'm pretty bored!!!!
