What exactly is the problem with the ones you've got? Why does the lip matter? Can't you just fit the matting cartridges around the lips? After all they don't have to be a perfect fit as the water's going to flow around the matting rather than through the sheets themselves.

Heollo eds,

"What exactly is the problem with the ones you've got?"
No problems just wanted to get it right from the start, having a chamber with stright sides and no staging lips that reduce the diameter of the vortex over it hight (what I have now) and a greater distance between chamber floor and bottom of matting, wich I dont have on the chamber i`ve got.
After reading your post and thinking of a reply I may have a work around...

Yes, im looking in to it.

my filter will be - compact sieve to brush chamber to bio jap mat 10" deep, the main pond has compact sieve to brush chamber to aerated K1 working great, on the other pond i`d like jap map as the bio chamber, from reading the web it seems having a greater distance between chamber floor and bottom of matting gives better settlement (if anything gets through) with a good clean depth of water below matting.

Russ.
