I am trying to reorganise my pond filters. I wish to have a Nexus Pod from the Bottom Drain, - Pump, - U.V., - BBF1 - to pond.
Pond 1500g, 1.5in pipes throughout.
Advice on which Pump to use please.
Many thanks.

Re: Which Pump?
Hi Edward
the pod can run upto 10000litres/ hour,
your pond is approx 6800 litres--so you want a turnover of approx 6800 litres every 2hours, so a 3500 pump is enough, but i think a 5500 would be better to allow for pipe losses.
you could put a 10000 on, but the added power consumption and that you are pulling the water through at the pods limit will i think not allow it to work as efficiently. i actually have an Eagle Aquatic 7500 on mine, but i am also pulling a skimmer through it aswell
most people will recomend Oase Aquamax pumps, but i needed something to fit my wallet at the end of my pond build
the pod does have a 3" drain feed, but comes with a 4" to 3" reducing boot, so you can put 4" pipework for your drain if you want. i reduced my drain to 3" and ran straight into the pod, it was said you get a better flow, and woosh!! when you flush
only been running a couple of months but works fine.

Re: Which Pump?
hi steve
in theory yes the 5500 is fine on turnover rate but he wants to pump through a bubble bead 1 so there is a concern over head preassure
also this is a filter upgrade the 3" drain pipe is there and cannot be changed
i was thinking a seq 8000s what are other peoples thoughts to the plan
