some info on blocks

Post by SnakeheadsUK »

hi all

anyone ever used hollow blocks to build a pond?
i'm exploring my options

the pond will be 10x 7.5x 4 foot deep estimated
thats maximum surface area
depth is negotiable if i can get a skip for a good price
the project will be financed by extra work when available and may take some time fo that reason

I used hollow blocks on both of my ponds. I back filled using an sand cement grout
with an admix that meant the grout expanded rather than shrank at the start of the
drying/curing process. (my last pond 5 years ago & my first koi pond in 1982 {and thats still there})
at my dads house. He's 75 now & till going strong only just slowed down.

Best Regards
