Where Can I Get Glass For A Curved Window

Post by emmaandaj »

Hi All,

Next stage of the block work going up tommorrow, so had a phone around today to try and find someone that can supply glass for a curved window. Unfortunately ive drawn a total blank so far-i tried Pilkington glass, they were kind enough to give me some numbers but no one could help. Anyone know any glass suppliers Essex way that can bend glass???

Sounds expensive Andy.

Cant you somehow make a flat bit fit, go in further onto the block at the ends, render more in the middle area to make up the frame????

Hi Andy

Must agree with Bob. It sounds mega expensive and I'd look for a way of using flat glass.

I just googled "curved glass" and there are a few companies around that can do it. I chose one at random and pasted the link below.

Good Luck

Or brick square, the area you intend to fit the window..........balcony style.

Hi Guys,

Im sure a curved window will be beyond my budget, i just want to price it up before making a decision. Thanks for the link Bob, i will ring them tommorrow.

Plan B is several flat windows round the curved wall using the depth of the wall to set them in. Dave what do you mean by a flat balcony stlye window?

Cheers Andy :D

Ummm!!!!!!, how to explain. I take it, by sourcing a curved window, you have/intend to have, a curved wall. Well, you can still have a curved wall, and flat window. The area you intend to put the window in, you can brick it out square, like a balcony/bay window in reverse, instead of a flat wall with a bow, you have a curved wall with a straight, the opposite of what Bob has suggested, more pleasing on the eye.
