No this is one i grew on from last year that other little Shiro is doing fine in the QT and they are also due a bit of a pop out and have a look so i may have a few pics of it soon
Yes they seem to be doing well and the Kohaku is much better in the flesh but didn't want her picture taken and she does have a big body so hoping it will carry on to a nice size
Stefan the breeders are Omosako for the Shiro and Ogawa for the Kohaku
Thanks for the pic.
Amazing change and growth.
Well done.
It makes everything worth in the long end to buy tosai and watch them develop.
I´m thinking of buying a few next year just to see how they turn out.
It´s always a challenge
They are the first fish i have ever grown on as i am relatively new to the hobby especially when i look how many years some of these guys have been doing it
I had so much fun and it keeps you busy with fish even through those horrible cold months we have and watching them grow and changes is absolutely fantastic and i am doing the same this year again
Just a bit more info the Shiro was 12cm and the Kohaku was 16cm now the Shiro is around 45cm and the Kohaku is around 46cm i didn't measure them today as it was getting a bit dark
hi gazza .
two really nice koi and some excellent growth. i was just wondering what size tank you have? as i dont have a huge amount of room and my tank is only 450 gallons which has been used a qt tank over the spring and summer ( i aint buying no more untill next spring ) and was wondering how i could expect 3 or 4 100 to 125 mm koi to get on.
My tank at this moment is holding around 450gls it was 428gls but my auto top up broke and its now a bit higher
Those two fish where grown on from 12cm and 16cm and at the moment i have six fish in there from various sizes and on a Goromo who was 12cm when purchased in April and in August it was 32cm so its doing OK so i think you should be OK
